Damon G. Douglas Company performed this complete interior and exterior renovation and restoration to First Union’s historic banking facility in Paterson, New Jersey, by recognizing the need for all involved to honor the facility’s landmark value.

We performed the complete removal of all interior construction and replaced it to First Union’s new standards while maintaining and restoring the huge murals depicting Turn-of-the-Century Paterson, painted on the exterior walls above the banking space.

The challenges presented to Damon G. Douglas Company included restoring the building’s granite and limestone exterior and refinishing skylights and ceilings 34’ above the banking floor, during normal operations.

Upon completion of this project, local community leaders expressed their satisfaction and appreciation of the results.
